Anatolian Folk Song and Dance Workshop

'll be teaching a very special workshop with my wonderful friend Sevi in the gorgeous RWA gallery of Bristol as part of their special Dance Out exhibit. In this workshop we will build on the feedback and what we learned facilitating workshops at the Spirit of SWANA Festival in May. Expect a real focus on rhythm, dance and the organic relationship between them.
Beginners are welcome :) Bring a percussion instrument if you have one but there will also be instruments for everyone to share.

As part of the Rhythm and Rhyme Tent at the incredible WOMAD Festival, I'll be teaching a fun and fabulous choreography to a Turkish song from the springtime Hıdırellez Festival! Expect lots of hip swinging, shoulder shaking and circle dances to a glorious 9/8 rhythm!

I am teaching 3 new workshops at this beautiful, small festival celebrating global rhythms at Hulver Farm.
All workshops will be taught alongside live music, with the aim of immersing people in essence of music and dance.

Join me for a seriously deep dive into the beautiful world of finger cymbals. Over the course of 2 days (8 hours) I will be guiding dancers through rhythms, patterns and techniques to truly bring your finger cymbal skills to the next level. Dancers will learn a brand new drum solo finger cymbal choreography to take home and practise, enabling you to really build on your technique and performance. If you have been wanting to improve your cymbal skills THIS is how you do it! Come join me and take it to the next level.
